Queen are a British rock band formed in London in 1970, built around the four-way songwriting partnership of vocalist Freddie Mercury, guitarist Brian May, drummer Roger Taylor and bassist John Deacon. Their catalog - spanning operatic rock epics, stadium anthems and glam-tinged pop - has made them one of the best-selling acts in music history. Since 2011, May and Taylor have continued to tour as Queen + Adam Lambert; Freddie Mercury died in November 1991.
