A grotesque about chatterboxes, chattering, and career - or get to know your talker. A jokingly absurd combination of the one-act play Illiterate and fragments of the play Suspicious Person by Branislav Nušić, adapted by Petra Vitez Petao. The second subtitle reads: "Fools in Bohemia".
"According to official reports from 1873, there were 998 fools in Bohemia. Thus there would be 1 fool per 5,116 inhabitants in Bohemia. The most significant theory about the cause of this peculiar phenomenon comes from the Frenchman Saint-Layer, who does not seek the cause of the illness in race or family, nor in occupation or poverty, but in spring water," says a report from Národní listy from 1875.
Illiterate was published in our country exactly ninety years later. Coincidence? We don't think so...
