Master

The play was written by Helena Albertová, holder of the title Lady of Czech Culture from 2018, who in 2025 received the Ministry of Culture Award for her contribution to theatre. Petr Kubát contributed to the later version of the play.

The story is based on a true event: director Jan Kačer attempted to bring an unnamed legend of Czech theatre and film back to the stage. Will he succeed in the play as well? Does the aging actor still yearn for the spotlight, or is he already tired of theatre and life?

It is a bitter comedy about the absurdity of life.
