Through Forbidden Lands

A theatrical production about the life of Alexandra David-Néel and her adventurous journey through Tibet.

She was an explorer, orientalist, and writer. At the beginning of the twentieth century, she decided to travel through the "forbidden land of eternal snow," which was then hermetically sealed to foreigners. Disguised as a beggar on a sacred pilgrimage, she penetrated remote wild places, often as the first European to do so, and brought back accounts in her remarkable travel writings. Her eventful life, books, and arduous journey inspired this original play by Pavel Gejguš and Markéta Bocková.
