Gala Concert for the Day of Czechoslovak Independence

A festive concert marking the founding of the Czechoslovak state takes place on Wednesday, 28 October 2026 at the Reduta in Olomouc's Upper Square. Jiří Vodička performs Erich Korngold's Violin Concerto in D major and Antonín Dvořák's Symphony No. 6 in D major. The Reduta serves as the home venue of the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc, one of the Czech Republic's oldest symphonic ensembles, and its concert hall in Empire style opened in 1831. Vodička undertakes three Czech concerts this year - alongside Olomouc, he also appears in Říčany and Brno. The programme unites two works in the same key, forming the centrepiece of this commemorative evening.
