What Remains of Love

The relationship between Magnus and Anna is drawing to a bittersweet end. Anna finds inspiration for her art in the vast Icelandic meadows, while Magnus, a fisherman, spends much of the year at sea. Their shared moments with three teenage children and a dog are filled with subtle tension.

As time passes, recriminations give way to reconciliation, and their disputes can be viewed with humor and understanding. Director Hlynur Pálmason demonstrates through his unique cinematic poetry how much of value can remain from love, even when it seemed everything was gone.
