Český chřest farm in Hostín u Vojkovic opens its 2026 season with direct farm sales starting Monday, April 20. The farm shop is open daily from 7 to 17 hours, including weekends and holidays, until the end of June. White asparagus is available first, grown without light exposure under mounded earth, preserving its delicate snow-white color and sweet taste. Green asparagus will be offered from approximately late April onwards. Throughout the season, the farm also offers a specially bred purple asparagus variety. Freshness is guaranteed – shoots reach the shop counter within hours of harvest. In addition to fresh asparagus, visitors can purchase Mělník horseradish, asparagus beer, pickled asparagus, asparagus pesto, and other products. This year the farm is launching its own processing line. White asparagus prices remain at last year's level, while green asparagus will see a slight increase of approximately 2–3% for inflation. The farm is located approximately 20 minutes' drive from Prague. Asparagus cultivation in the Mělník region has a tradition dating back to the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. The season's highlight is the Asparagus and Horseradish Festival, scheduled for May 16–17, 2026, directly at the farm.
