Casablanca

American Rick Blaine runs a nightclub in Casablanca during World War II, a place where anyone seeking a false passport or a chance to gamble can find their way.

One day, anti-fascist fighter Victor Laszlo arrives at the club - though he bears a Hungarian name, the script identifies him as a man of Czech origin - accompanied by his wife Ilsa. Both are desperate to obtain visas and escape the Gestapo to the United States as quickly as possible.

Rick recognizes in Laszlo's wife his former lover. The couple soon grow close again and begin planning their escape together.
