Mrač Battle – Historical Festival 2026

The Mrač Historical Festival 2026 is the 9th edition of an annual event held at the medieval fortress Mrač, approximately 5 km north of Benešov. The festival opens with a procession through the village of Mrač, followed by two battle reconstructions – a Hussite battle and one from the Thirty Years' War. The programme includes a fencing tournament, period camp, marketplace, demonstrations of medieval military equipment, period music, and a closing fire show by the group Novus Origo.

Mrač Fortress is the only preserved fortress in Central Europe with a curtain wall fortification system that incorporates both a palace and an agricultural building into its defensive structure. The site includes a medieval cellar, Renaissance farmstead, ruins of a Baroque castle, a mill from 1540, and a former hammer mill building.
