About

Vráťa Hošek, born Vratislav Hošek on 11 October 1988 in Brno, is a Czech singer-songwriter, lyricist and political scientist. He studied political science at Masaryk University in Brno, and that academic background feeds directly into his songs - folk melodies paired with darkly comic texts about totalitarian regimes, the Nazi Protectorate and controversial historical figures. Fans have dubbed his style 'Wehrmacht folk'. Alongside his solo work he fronts the six-piece band Vadnej Hrošík and regularly collaborates with the satirical group Pondělníci.
