Sinfonietta100
Vodojemy Žlutý kopec, Brno
A dance and music adaptation of Janáček's Sinfonietta marking the 100th anniversary of the composition's creation. Choreographer Martin Dvořák approaches the work as a dance portrait of our time — Janáček's music serves as a counterpoint to today's chaotic, manipulative, and crude society, while openness to dialogue, empathy, and art are presented as a way out of this chaos.
Musician and vocalist Patrik Kee complements Janáček's five movements with four of his own compositions, creating a musical bridge to the present day. Six dancers perform before an audience of up to one hundred in the unique space of the Vodojemy water towers on Žlutý kopec in Brno.
