Noir Haas

The talented Haas brothers from Brno were separated by the Second World War. Composer Pavel remained in his homeland and was murdered in Auschwitz, where the dark epilogue of his musical legacy was also created — a body of work encompassing orchestral and chamber compositions, stage and film music. Actor Hugo emigrated and survived the war — and today he is far more widely known in the public consciousness.

The original theatrical production "Noir Haas" sets these two figures — the famous and the half-forgotten — against each other. It moves between historical accuracy and fiction, engaging in dialogue with the genre of classical biography.
