Tour of the Vogl and Kraus Apartments

The tour begins with a visit to Dr. Vogl's apartment at Klatovská 12. The expedition first takes visitors to the house of the Škoda family at Klatovská 10. These two houses were connected during the war to create an office that continues to function there in modified form today. The only rooms miraculously preserved – a living room with replicas of the original furniture and a travertine dining room – stand in stark contrast to the maze of small offices into which the original bourgeois apartments were transformed. During the tour, visitors will learn the stories of selected Plzeň families for whom Adolf Loos designed a series of luxurious interiors in the Klatovská district. After the tour of the apartment at Klatovská 12, there is a short walk of approximately 8 minutes to the next interior. In the apartment of the Kraus couple at Bendova 10, visitors can see what experts consider the most beautiful Loos salon, with cladding of Swiss Cipollino marble and a ceiling of mahogany panels. This is followed by a tour of the remaining parts of the apartment – the former bathroom, Mr. Kraus's study with stunning wallpaper, a comfortably furnished bedroom with built-in furniture, and last but not least, the maid's room with its original floor of red-painted wooden planks.
