Pavel Svoboda: Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan - New Routes

The lecture takes you to Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. In the Tian Shan and Pamir mountains, Pavel Svoboda hitchhikes solo through remote areas - for the second time in Tajikistan, this time to places where he won't encounter another tourist for 14 days. He will also share what Kyrgyzstan was like in winter and how his expedition to Kazakhstan's highest mountains went.

Pavel Svoboda (born 1985) is a trained geographer and traveling photographer. He spent several years of his life traveling through Asia, South America and northern Europe. He has documented his expeditions in the travel books "Across South America" and "Across Asia"; his third book "Mountain Wanderers" was nominated among the five best travel books of 2024 in the "Travel Book of the Year - Hanzelka and Zikmund Prize" competition.
