Ridina Ahmedová: My Body Is Mine — Anděl Music Bar, Pilsen

An author reading from Ridina Ahmedová's new book

The festival "My Life with My Body" opens with an author reading from the book "My Body Is Mine" - a sensitive guide to growing up, self-acceptance, and finding your own voice amid the expectations of the world around you. The evening will introduce the festival's theme and create space for shared reflection. Ridina Ahmedová will invite the audience to explore questions that touch everyone: "What story does our body tell? And can we truly listen to it?"

Ridina Ahmedová is an artist, author of the documentary podcast series "Lard" and "Forgive?", singer and performer who has long focused on themes of body, voice, identity, and human communication. She is the founder of the initiative "My Body Is Mine", which draws attention to systemic societal pressure on physical appearance and the issue of body shaming. For the podcast and performance "Lard" she has received, among other awards, the Františka Plamínková Prize (2022), silver at the Grand Prix Bohemia Radio festival (2022), and a nomination for the Czech Theatre DNA award. This year she is the artistic director of the 15th edition of the festival "My Life with...", whose theme is "My Life with My Body".
