СОЮЗ / SOYUZ is a creative collective from Minsk, expanded after moving to Warsaw in 2022 when Polish musicians Albert Karch and Igor Wiśniewski joined founders Alex Chumak and Mikita Arlou. Their sound weaves jazz, Slavic pop and the woozy warmth of 1970s Brazilian music. The 2022 album Force of the Wind (Mr Bongo) landed them slots at Primavera Sound and XJAZZ and airplay on BBC Radio and NTS. Their latest record, KROK (2025), is sung mostly in Belarusian and was recorded across São Paulo, Stockholm and Warsaw.
