Schools – On the Trail

An educational programme for upper primary school students that takes participants into Prague at the end of the 19th century through the investigation of a 130-year-old crime. Students become detectives uncovering clues about life in the impoverished Josefov ghetto and the position of women and children in the great city of that era. The starting point is Jakub Schikaneder's work "Murder in the House".

The programme uses dramatic techniques – living pictures and role-playing – and connects art, history, and creative work with reflection on themes such as social inequality and gender roles. It relates to works by Jakub Schikaneder, Luděk Marold, Bohumil Kubišta, and Luigi Loir.
