Rapoon is the solo project of Robin Storey (born 1955, Cumbria), co-founder of the pioneering industrial group :zoviet*france:. After leaving the band in 1992, he began releasing music under this name and has since built a catalogue of over 80 albums spanning tribal ambient, dark drones and experimental electronics. Storey is also a visual artist, animator and printmaker whose work has been exhibited internationally.
Rapoon released the album Goodbye To Dreams Of Space (Zoharum, June 30, 2026) - a ten-track ambient work exceeding one hour in length.
The album Grain of Light was released on March 12, 2026 by Unexplained Sounds Group and received positive reviews in media outlets such as Avant Music News and Igloo Magazine.
The album The Silent Trumpets was released on January 29, 2026 by Klanggalerie and was described as one of Rapoon's most impressive works.
In May 2026, the recording She Dances With Fred was released, another in the series of releases this year.
In 2024, an expanded three-disc edition of the debut album Dream Circle (In Three Phases) was released by Zoharum, containing a remastered version of the original and two new discs.
