Otakar Ostrčil

About

Otakar Ostrčil (1879–1935) was a Czech composer and conductor, a pupil of Zdeněk Fibich. He served for many years as chief conductor of the National Theatre in Prague and composed operas and orchestral works. His melodrama Balada česká is an early piece reflecting his late-Romantic style.
