František Benda (1709–1786) was a Czech violinist and composer who spent most of his career at the court of Frederick the Great in Berlin. He was one of the foremost violinists of his era and composed numerous violin concertos and sonatas in the galant style. He is regarded as a key figure of the 18th-century Czech musical diaspora.
