Antonín Rejcha (1770–1836) was a Czech-French composer and music theorist who spent most of his life in Paris, where he became a professor at the Conservatoire. He is best known for his innovative wind quintets, which played a defining role in establishing the genre. He was a friend of Beethoven and a teacher of composers including Berlioz, Liszt, and Gounod.
