Manic Street Preachers are a Welsh rock band from Blackwood, formed in 1986, comprising vocalist and guitarist James Dean Bradfield, bassist and chief lyricist Nicky Wire, and drummer Sean Moore. They rose to prominence in the 1990s with politically charged albums including The Holy Bible (1994) and Everything Must Go (1996), the latter earning them multiple Brit Awards. Over a career spanning four decades and fifteen studio albums, they have headlined Glastonbury and topped the UK Albums Chart three times. Their 2025 record Critical Thinking debuted at number one in the UK.
