Josef František

About

Josef František (1914–1940) was a Czechoslovak fighter pilot who served with No. 303 Polish Fighter Squadron of the RAF during World War II. He became the top-scoring pilot of the squadron and one of the highest-scoring Allied pilots of the Battle of Britain. Known as the "lone wolf" for his independent combat style, he died in a flying accident in October 1940.
