In Flames are a Swedish metal band from Gothenburg, active since 1990 and widely credited as pioneers of the Gothenburg melodic death metal sound. Vocalist Anders Fridén and guitarist Björn Gelotte have anchored the lineup since 1995, steering the band through a gradual shift toward alternative and modern metal. Across fourteen studio albums and over two million records sold, they remain one of the most internationally recognised acts to emerge from the Swedish metal scene.
In Flames completed recording their fifteenth studio album in Los Angeles with producer Howard Benson; the release date has not yet been announced.
The band announced an extensive European summer tour 2026 with 29 stops, including the Wacken Open Air and Masters of Rock festivals in Vizovice.
New drummer Jon Rice (ex-Job for a Cowboy) joined the band, replacing Tanner Wayne.
In Flames completed a joint European tour Rising from the North with Arch Enemy and Soilwork - 25 concerts from October to November 2024.
The fourteenth album Foregone (Nuclear Blast) was released, produced by Howard Benson, which critics received very positively.
