About

Amon Amarth are a melodic death metal band from Tumba, Sweden, active since 1992, whose music draws on Norse mythology and Viking history. Over three decades they grew from cult underground status into one of metal's most in-demand live acts, known for elaborate stage productions featuring longships and pyrotechnics. Singer Johan Hegg fronts a lineup completed by guitarists Olavi Mikkonen and Johan Söderberg, bassist Ted Lundström, and drummer Jocke Wallgren.
