František Gabriel is a Czech archaeologist specialising in the medieval archaeology of northwest Bohemia. Since 2001 he has taught at the Faculty of Arts of Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem, and from 2013 he has headed the Department of Archaeology at the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň. His research focuses on castle archaeology - he edits the journal Castellologica Bohemica and authored České Švýcarsko ve středověku (Bohemian Switzerland in the Middle Ages, 2006).
