Concert Without Borders
The Retz Symphony Wind Orchestra from Austria will perform a concert celebrating the partnership between the towns of Retz and Znojmo. Conductor Gerhard Forman leads an ensemble of students, alumni, and teachers.
Flore Laurentienne is the project of Québec composer, multi-instrumentalist and orchestrator Mathieu David Gagnon, built around a chamber string ensemble and vintage analog synthesizers from the 1960s and 70s. Gagnon studied composition and orchestration at the conservatories of Aubervilliers and Bordeaux, winning prizes in fugue and counterpoint, before returning to Canada where he worked as an arranger - including for his sister Klô Pelgag. Rooted in the landscape of the St. Lawrence River, the project has earned three Félix Awards, two GAMIQs and a Juno nomination since its debut album Volume I in 2019. Volume III, the final chapter of the trilogy, was released in April 2026 on Secret City Records.
Flore Laurentienne released the album Volume III on April 10, 2026 on the Secret City Records label - the final installment of the trilogy that began in 2019.
As part of the Volume III release, the project undertook a European tour with concerts in Bratislava, Prague, London, Brussels and other cities.
The composition "Petit piano" from the album Volume I was featured in the new spring campaign of Louis Vuitton for 2026 with Jeremy Allen White.
The documentary film Flore Laurentienne, la fin et le commencement (directed by Guillaume Monette) had its world premiere at the International Festival of Films on Art in Montreal.
At the Gala de l'ADISQ 2024 ceremony, the project won the Félix award for best instrumental album of the year for the album 8 tableaux.
