Divadelní spolek LokVar is an independent itinerant puppet theatre company based in Prague, founded in 2002 by Ivana Lokajová and Peter Varga - both graduates of the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre at DAMU, whose surnames gave the ensemble its name. The eleven-member company performs for children and adults alike, using hand puppets, marionettes and other puppet forms. LokVar appears regularly at leading Czech festivals such as Loutkářská Chrudim and tours abroad - in 2022 it represented Czech puppetry at the European Days of Puppetry in Brussels.
The LokVar ensemble presented the premiere of the new fairy tale Three Little Pigs on January 4, 2026, directed by Peter Varga with set design by Barbora Hubená and music by Milan Potočka.
LokVar performed the fairy tales Kašpárek Builds a House and Three Little Pigs at the music festival at Dobříš Castle in August 2026.
Peter Varga led the fifth cycle of the Puppet Conservatory in 2025 as the main lecturer.
LokVar participated in the 74th Puppet Festival Chrudim with the production Brouček.
The ensemble represented Czech puppet theater tradition at the European Days of Puppetry in Brussels with the production Matěj and the Devils.
