Buchty a loutky is an independent alternative puppet theatre founded in 1991 by graduates of the puppetry department at Prague's DAMU - Marek Bečka, Radek Beran, Vít Brukner and Zuzana Bruknerová. The ensemble performs for children and adults alike and has staged over 60 productions in more than thirty years. They approach both classic texts and original work with dry humour and a strong visual sensibility, mixing old puppets, toys and new technologies, with music typically performed live. They also contributed to puppet films such as Jan Svěrák's Kuky Returns. Their regular home is the Studio of Švandovo divadlo in Prague.
