About

Beata Bocek (born 18 March 1983 in Český Těšín) is a Silesian singer-songwriter who performs mainly in Polish, occasionally switching to Czech, Swedish, or the local Silesian dialect known as "po naszymu". She grew up on the Czech-Polish border as a member of the Polish minority, and that borderland identity runs through all her work. On stage she moves between guitar, accordion, ukulele and a loopstation with which she layers her own voice live. Her 2012 album Ja tutaj mieszkam earned her an Anděl Award nomination in the world music category; in February 2026 she released Bílo on Indies Scope, her first solo record in a decade.
