Guided Animal Feeding at Děčín Zoo 2026
Regular guided animal feeding sessions at Děčín Zoo featuring demonstrations of iguanas, macaques, anteaters, caracals, foxes, wallabies, bears, and capybaras. Perfect for families with children.
Zoo Děčín was founded in 1948 by a group of animal enthusiasts and opened to the public in spring 1949, making it the second zoo in northern Bohemia. It occupies 6 hectares on the sandstone ridge of Pastýřská stěna (Shepherd's Wall) in a woodland park, directly across the river from Děčín Castle. The zoo keeps over 500 animals of 163 species, including critically endangered ones covered by European EEP breeding programmes. A separate indoor exposition called Rajské ostrovy (Paradise Islands), about 700 m away in the town centre, presents fauna from coral reefs, tropical rainforests and mangrove coasts.
