Belcredi Palace Líšeň

Brno

About the venue

The baroque château in Brno's Líšeň district was built after 1714 on the site of an older Renaissance fortress for Jan Kryštof of Freynfels, most likely to designs by builder Christian Alexander Oedtl. The Belcredi family took it over in 1819 and remodelled it in the Classicist style; confiscated in 1949, it was returned to the family in 1992. The complex includes a chapel of the Virgin Mary from 1727 with rococo paintings, a 1.5-hectare park, and a château restaurant. Today it functions as a hotel and a venue for cultural events and weddings, and is listed as a protected cultural monument.
