Švandovo divadlo na Smíchově is a Prague city theatre with a tradition dating back to 1881, when it was founded by Pavel Švanda ze Semčic. After extensive renovation it reopened in 2002. It has two performance spaces – the Large Hall (300 seats) and the basement Studio (44–100 seats). The repertoire features productions by the resident drama ensemble as well as guest companies; it is the first Prague drama theatre to offer English surtitles.
