Rezidence Café Kaprál is a literary salon that opened in September 2022 in the remarkably well-preserved flat of Brno poet Zeno Kaprál (1941-2020) at Údolní 17. The project grew out of Brno's bid for European Capital of Culture 2028 and is run by TIC Brno. The rooms impress with their generous proportions and the unusual degree to which original features survive - the flat is an artefact in its own right. Author readings, discussions, book launches, lectures and small theatre performances take place here, with programming shaped by a dramaturgical council drawn from publishers Host, Druhé město and Větrné mlýny.
