The baroque Church of the Finding of the Holy Cross, commonly known as the Piarist Church, stands on the castle hill and is one of Litomyšl's most prominent landmarks. Built between 1714 and 1722 to designs by Giovanni Battista Alliprandi and completed after his death by František Maxmilián Kaňka, with sculpture from the workshop of Matthias Bernhard Braun. After decades of neglect, a full restoration in 2011-2015 brought it back to life as a gallery and concert venue, now featuring light installations by Václav Cigler and Michal Motyčka, the sacred-art exhibition Andělé na návrší, and a viewing terrace between the two towers.
