About the venue

Muzeum umění Olomouc is a state-run art museum and collection institution under the Czech Ministry of Culture, founded in 1951 and today managing over 200,000 objects. It operates across two main sites: the Museum of Modern Art in an Art Nouveau building on Denisova Street, focused on 20th- and 21st-century art, and the Archdiocesan Museum in the Přemyslid Castle complex, which includes the Romanesque palace of Bishop Jindřich Zdík. A kinetic sculpture by David Černý, "Lupič" (The Thief), is mounted on the cornice of the Denisova Street building.
