The Art Nouveau theatre building from 1906-1907, designed by the Vienna firm Fellner & Helmer, is one of the region's most notable listed monuments, protected since 1958. The house has no permanent company - instead, visiting ensembles fill the stage with over 200 performances a year, spanning drama, opera, ballet and musicals. The auditorium seats 512 and holds 80 standing; the interior retains 114 original Art Nouveau chandeliers and wall lights across sixteen distinct designs.
