About the venue

A neo-Renaissance theatre in Slaný, designed by architects Antonín Wiehl and Jan Koula and opened on 30 December 1883. Between 1948 and 1990 it was known as Divadlo Zdeňka Nejedlého; a major reconstruction in 1999-2001 restored it to its current form. The auditorium seats up to 350. The venue operates as a stagione, hosting touring productions, lectures, and performances by the amateur company Slánská scéna.
