Photographic Perspectives 1948: Slaný at a Turning Point
A photographic exhibition documenting Slaný in 1948 during a pivotal period of social transformation. Historical images reveal the city at a crucial turning point in its history.
The Regional Museum in Slaný was founded in 1885 on the initiative of writer Václav Štech and is housed in a Baroque former Piarist college building from 1658 on Masarykovo náměstí. Its collections focus on the regional heritage of the Slaný area – archaeology, history and ethnography. In 2024 an interactive exhibition called Kingdom of Salt was opened. The former college chapel of the Betrothal of the Virgin Mary is part of the building.
