KD Plzeňka occupies a classicist building that served as a coaching inn in the first half of the 19th century. In 1862 Bedřich Smetana gave a concert here to raise funds for the National Theatre. After a major reconstruction the venue reopened on 2 September 2015 as a multifunctional cultural centre with a main hall, the smaller Klubová scéna, and an industrial-style club called Kotelna in the courtyard. It is run by Městské kulturní centrum Beroun.
