Hradiště Open Cellars - Vinotéka Gajdůšek
Open cellars in Uherské Hradiště with wine tastings from Vinotéka Gajdůšek and a chance to meet local winemakers.
A baroque complex on Masarykovo náměstí whose foundation stone was laid in 1654. The marshy ground forced builders to sink the foundations three metres deep onto oak piles. After the dissolution of the Jesuit order the building served as military barracks; following reconstruction in 2011-2012 it reopened as the Slovácké centrum kultury a tradic. Today it houses a tourist information centre, a permanent exhibition on the city's history, the Galerie Joži Uprky, and the Klub kultury; the courtyard is used for open-air events. Together with the adjacent Church of St Francis Xavier it is a protected cultural monument.
