Důl Michal is a remarkably well-preserved coal mine in the Michálkovice district of Ostrava, now a national cultural monument. Mining here ran from the 19th century until 1993. The site - with its original engine house, headframe and other structures intact - operates as a technical museum and hosts guided tours and cultural events.
