About the venue

The New Aula of VŠB-TUO stands in the university campus in Ostrava-Poruba and has served as the university's main ceremonial venue since 2006. Graduations, matriculations, international conferences and cultural events all take place here. The main hall seats 465 and includes a gallery with booths for journalists and interpreters. Suspended walkways connect the building to the surrounding faculties, while an academic square with an amphitheatre and water cascade lies just outside.
