glú – a house of snow and ice
This lecture maps a month spent in an igloo in the heart of the Lapland tundra – a ski journey to a frozen lake, the construction of an ice house, and the daily reality of survival in extreme conditions. With sledges loaded with furs, wool, and hunting tools, the speaker enters a landscape where each morning brings uncertainty.
Wood is scarce in the Lapland tundra, so fire is not a reliable companion. Survival depends on protecting body heat, managing strength, and hunting – each day involves checking holes in the ice, fishing, and hunting beneath thick layers of ice.
The lecture also opens the inner dimension of the journey: working with limited resources, long hours of silence, and shifts in the perception of time. It is not about achievement. It is about being.
