Three Routes Beyond the Arctic Circle
Mon, 21 Sep 2026 · 19:00
Jiří Kalát presents three expeditions beyond the Arctic Circle that took him to different corners of the north.
The Swedish Kungsleden - the royal wilderness trail - offered 120 kilometers of trekking that Jiří completed with his companion Pavel Stejskal. The Norwegian island of Senja attracted him with the opportunity for a kayaking course: the island lies approximately 500 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle, making it a challenge in itself. The Greenlandic Arctic Circle Trail rounded out the trio of journeys with a 160-kilometer trek through its landscape.
Each of these routes was unique - the lecture weaves them together into a single narrative.
