Hidden Cinema and FIFELI in the Litomerice Tunnel
Moto meeting point Tunel, Litoměřice
Hidden Cinema combines film projection with participatory performance and interactive elements in unconventional spaces. The film title remains secret until the last moment - the programme focuses on acclaimed films from international festivals that are not in Czech cinema distribution.
This time, Hidden Cinema leaves Prague for the first time and heads to the regions. Audiences will be taken into a former railway tunnel beneath the historic centre of Litomerice, built in 1872-1874 as part of the Austrian North-Western Railway. After nearly a century of operation, it was abandoned in 1958 and gradually served as a storage space, exhibition venue, and garage. Today it functions as a cultural and social space. The event is created in collaboration with the Litomerice Film Festival (FIFELI).
The evening programme includes an engaging performance in the tunnel before the screening itself, a gamified quiz, and a guided tour. Kombucha and cider from Prager's will also be available.
Practical information:
- The tunnel maintains a low temperature year-round - warm clothing, long trousers, a sweatshirt and jacket are recommended.
- The event is accessible. The accompanying programme is in Czech; the film is screened in its original language with Czech subtitles. Questions about the original language version should be sent to festival@fifeli.cz.
- Capacity is limited to 110 spectators.
- The estimated duration of the event is 3 hours.
- Any outdoor part of the performance takes place in all weather conditions.
- By purchasing a ticket, spectators agree to comply with the visitor rules.
- Litomerice can be reached by car (approximately one hour from Prague) or by public transport. The train and bus stations are about 15 minutes' walk from the venue; public car parks are available near the stations.
