Migratory Birds

The peaceful life of a family from the Wayú indigenous tribe, rhythmed by tradition, falls victim to the desire for wealth. The main character Rapayet becomes estranged from his clan's way of life and begins trading marijuana on a large scale. What starts as an inconspicuous way to earn a bride price and win the woman he loves grows into conflict and vanity, ending in a spiral of revenge and violence within the tribe.

This visually refined family saga set against the backdrop of emerging drug cartels is a commentary on Colombia's national history and its current situation. Non-professional actors, fortunately discovered for the film, naturally portray characters radiating dignity and honour.
