Apocalypse: Final Cut

Captain Willard, a seasoned soldier serving in Vietnam, receives orders to find and eliminate American Colonel Walter E. Kurtz - a deserter who has established himself as a leader of devoted indigenous people in the jungle and wages his own war against both the Vietnamese and his own side.

Willard and his men travel upriver on a patrol boat against the current of the Mekong, encountering various forms of war's hell along the way. The time spent on the river gives him space to reflect on himself and on Kurtz - a man in whom war has exposed a tendency toward destruction and evil. When Willard finally reaches Kurtz's realm and hears his philosophical visions of humanity and war, the order to kill ceases to be mere routine.
