Hay Fever

Coward's bitter comedy from 1925 unfolds over one June weekend in the summer house of the Bliss couple. Judith Bliss, a former actress, and her husband David, a writer, spend the summer there with their two teenage children. Each of them independently invites a guest for the weekend - and looks forward to it with childlike enthusiasm. But the excitement quickly fades once everyone discovers that their guest won't be the only one in the house. From that moment on, quarrels between self-centered family members overshadow hospitality and decorum. The guests are confused and fall prey to the pitfalls of romantic games.
