A concert celebrating the greatest hits of Bedřich Smetana takes place on Monday, 9 November 2026 at Městské Tylovo divadlo in Kutná Hora. This functionalist building, erected in 1931-1933 after designs by brothers Rudolf and Josef Hrab, stands in the city centre on Masarykova street and bears the name of local-born Josef Kajetán Tyl. The evening of classical music forms part of a three-date Czech tour. The theatre, with its substantial history, offers an intimate setting to encounter the work of one of the Czech lands' most significant composers.

About the venue: Kutná Hora Municipal Tylovo Theatre

A functionalist theatre building in the centre of Kutná Hora, constructed in 1931-1933 to a design by brothers Rudolf and Josef Hraba and ceremonially opened on 12 November 1933. It is named after Josef Kajetán Tyl, a native of the town who was the first to publicly champion the idea of a dedicated theatre for the local amateur drama society. The venue has no permanent professional ensemble and instead hosts visiting productions, concerts, dance shows and festivals. The main auditorium seats over 500; the smaller Malá scéna was created in 2015 from a former puppet stage.
